If you keep asking google sooner or later you gotta get an answer. Getting 7 to format FAT32 over 32GB through command prompt or its built in tool is kind of a crap shoot from what I can see. Sorry that Swissknife wasn't of use to ya, but yeah. I found it just after I posted my thread. Even if it doesen't work on my telly I can get it to work on my xbox if I format it to FAT32, finding a way to do that is my only problem though.Įdit: That Swissknife doesen't seem to be compatible with Windows 7. I tried swissknife before but I couldnt get it to run on Windows 7 I used Seagates DiscWizard to format it FAT32 - I thought it might be best to use the manufacturers software. When you plug it into the TV, does the power light come on/ can you hear the disk spinning if you hold it to your ear? Which is funny because when I plug it into my Windows 7 machine to format it there it shows up as FAT32. I tried mkfs -t vfat but it still shows as NTFS on the Ubuntu machine. But FAT32 does not seem to be able handle a drive that big. From what I can tell I need to reformat it to FAT32. The TV may not supply the drive with enough power. The drive is a 1.36 TB big and is using NTFS. However, this may not solve your problem. it should be a fairly simple process in Windows - you may need to download some freeware to do it.
